SALAMANCA, N.Y. — The best season in a decade for the Salamanca football team is now marred by a bit of a caveat, after Section VI ruled that, due to use of an ineligible player, the Warriors have had to forfeit their Class C league championship.
The Warriors had finished 6-2, winning six straight league games, and in doing so captured the Section VI Class C South league title. According to Salamanca superintendent Robert Breidenstein, the team will not have to forfeit any of the six victories.
