McKean County Raceway will get an early start on the holiday
weekend as the oval will be the site for the fifth annual Dave
Lundgren Memorial tonight, paying $3,000 to win for the Northern
Tier Inc. ULMS Late Model Series.
Also on the card will be the Kinzua Water Service UEMS Emod
Series with its first visit of the year, running for $800 to win.
The ULMS Racing Series will be joined by the FASTRAK Late Models,
Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pure Stocks.
The Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Model Series will be making its
second stop of the season at MCR.
Franklin driver Matt Lux won the Jim Duffy Memorial earlier this
season and is expected to be back at MCR along with current ULMS
point leader Brent Rhebergen of Clymer, N.Y.
ULMS rookie drivers — Dennis Lunger of Albion and Dereck Frank
of Jamestown — along with three-time ULMS Champion Bob Close of
Eldred are expected to race tonight.
The Kinzua Water Service United Emod Series will be making its
first visit to MCR for the 2010 season. So far there have been
three different winners in the first three events. Rich Michael of
Ischua, N.Y., leads the UEMS contingent along with Brent Rhebergen
and Greg Johnson of Ashville, N.Y.
The FASTRAK Late Models will also be on the card. Smethport
driver Jeff Chesebro won the season-opening event, substituting for
Paul Geiger. Geiger is expected to be back tonight.
The Street Stock class will no doubt supply the fans with
another exciting night of action. Jason Dobson of Ceres, N.Y., is
the current point leader.
Bradford drivers Doyle Harris Jr. and Blane Krott lead their
respective classes going into tonight. Harris leads the Mini Stock
division. Krott leads the Pure Stock class.
Grandstand admission will be $10 with a pit admission of $30.
Admission for those ages 11-15 will be $5 and kids under the age of
11 will be admitted free.
All military members will be admitted free with military ID.
Race teams are reminded that due to insurance regulations, no
one can pit beyond the Turn Three entrance along the old 1/2-mile
racetrack. If you park there, you will be asked to move.
Racing starts at 7 p.m. with grandstand admission gates opening
up at 5 p.m.

Little Valley (N.Y.) Speedway, located at the Cattaraugus County
Fairgrounds, will make its 2010 debut on Memorial Day weekend.
The Sunday opener will once again feature the Super Late
Models.
Sponsored by Close Racing Supply, the first show will pay $3,000
to win for the Super Lates, with defending champion Bob Close and
the top drivers in the region vying for the winner’s check.
Also on the card will be the always competitive BRP Can Am
Series, featuring the 360 Late Models, racing for $1,000 to win,
the E-Mods, with another $1,000 on the line for the winner and the
Street Stocks, looking for $500 first place money.
Adult admission for this show is $14, with those under 12
admitted free.
Racing starts at 7 p.m. with the pits opening at 3 p.m.
A 30-lap Pure Stock special and a Mini Stock special are slated
Saturday at Bradford Speedway. The oval’s card last weekend was
postponed by rain.

Back-to-back nights of racing are on tap at Allegheny Mountain
Raceway in Kane. A four-star card gets under way at 5 p.m. Sunday
with the Mini, Pure, Charger and Street stock classes. In addition,
a Pure Stock King of the Hill and 600 Sprints are planned.
At 5 p.m. Monday, the Bill Layfield Memorial Street Stock
Special is on the card along with a four-star racing program
featuring the Mini, Pure and Charger classes.
