The second murder of a woman and child in six months has rocked
the Bradford area, but area officials feel McKean County is still a
safe place to raise families.
“Of course we’re a safe place to live,” said Bradford City Mayor
Tom Riel on Wednesday.
McKean County Commissioner and Bradford Township resident Al
Pingie agreed. “Absolutely. I’ve got four kids and they all live in
Bradford. I still feel comfortable walking down the street by
myself. I don’t feel threatened one bit.”
This is a place where people look out for one another, Pingie
said.
