If you plan on making a quick stop at the Crosby Mini Mart
located at 151 Interstate Parkway you may be disappointed.
The store officially closed its doors on Jan. 3.
According to Reid Stores Inc. Vice President and General Manager
Doug Galli, the decision to close the store was based on the
company’s future plans for growth and expansion.
“The reason and purpose behind closing Interstate Parkway is
that our focus is on location,” said Galli on Tuesday afternoon.
“Interstate Parkway just didn’t fit into our long term
plans.”
Currently, the Bradford area has six remaining Crosby Mini
Marts, including one location in Lewis Run.
The Interstate Parkway store is located in a prime area, with
close proximity to Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford Area
High School and Callahan Park. The store has been in operation
there for several years.
According to Galli, none of the employees of the Interstate
Parkway store will be laid off, noting they will be assigned
positions among other area store locations.
“It doesn’t mean we aren’t aggressively pursuing growth,” Galli
said, noting that his company has been actively renovating current
locations and purchasing new locations throughout Western New York
and northwestern Pennsylvania.
“Bradford (Pa.) is still a critical and key market for us,” said
Galli. “Right now our focus is to bring growth into the area.”
According to Galli, the now vacant Interstate Parkway property
will be entered into the consumer market by the company’s real
estate department.
The store sold grocery items and gasoline, among other products.
Workers could be seen in the store on Tuesday clearing out the
remaining items.
