CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -Kyle Keane of Bradford, Pa., placed fourth
and earned All-American status at Upper Iowa University on Saturday
in the Division II wrestling championships.
The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown redshirt sophomore
lost a 10-6 decision to Blake Peterson (26-9) of Truman State in
the 165-pound consolation finals.
Keane earlier made it to the championship semifinals before
losing to eventual champion Andy Pickar (21-3) of Minnesota State
University, Mankato, by a score of 8-3.
In the wrestleback brackets, Keane beat Kyle Becker (36-4) of UW
Parkside to make the consolation finals.
UPJ placed fourth with 87 points. Nebraska-Kearney took the team
crown with 108.5 points.
Kyle is the son of Lynette and the late Joe Keane of Bradford,
Pa.
