Three new club champions were crowned at the Pennhills Club on
Saturday.
Sue Aljoe won her fourth Senior Club Championship posting an 84
to beat Marcia Bower by three strokes. The two were tied after 15
holes when Aljoe played one over to finish the tournament.
Terry Reiley claimed victory in his first attempt in the Men’s
Senior Club Championship. His 73 was good enough to eclipse Steve
Kubiak’s 79. Kubiak won the 50-55 division and Pete Taylor was the
victor in the 60 and older division posting an 81.
Bradford High senior-to-be Bryan Hannon won the Junior Club
Championship, carding 83. This is his first Junior title. Ryan
Marshall finished second and Kenny Konwinski third.
In a sweeps tourney Saturday, Eric Schenfield (67), Dave Reid
(69) and Dean Harten (70) led the Class A players.
A.J. Moeke (66), Tom Arrowsmith (67) and Scott Bayline (70) led
the Class B golfers.
Pat Vigliotta (65) and Bob Vincich (71) paced the Class C
golfers.
A.J. Moeke (40), Steve Sabitini (25) and Bob Vincich (15) won
the pot of gold.
Mick Marshall won low gross honors in the ARG par three
tournament Sunday. Marshall beat, T.J. Reap on the fourth hole of a
match of cards with a par. Both players shot even par 27.
Low gross in the women’s division was Lynne Gokey with 28,
18-hole junior’s was Bryan Hannon with 28 and nine-hole junior’s
was Jon Sampson with 35.
T.J. and Maria Reap captured the partner’s combined shooting
58.
Chasing T.J. and Maria Reap were Ryan Gokey and Kenny Konwinski
(61), Mark Sherman and Chris Hauser (61), Judy Abbey and Lynne
Gokey (61) and Pete and Kathy Taylor (61).
Winning the net division with a score of 57.3 was the team of
Dr. Cecil Dee and Carl Swanson. Chasing them were Brian and Lorrie
Vecellio (57.7), Tom and Patsy Arrowsmith (58.4), Bryan Hannon and
Jim Wiseman (59.0), Tim and Kathy Sturm (59.5), A.J. and Judy Moeke
(59.8), Sue Aljoe and Marcia Bower (60.1) and Terry Reiley and
Chris Reiley (60.9)
Chasing Marshall and Reap in the individual race were Chris
Hauser (28), Brian Vecellio (28), Tom Arrowsmith (28), Jay Pecora
(28) and Rich Zydonik (28).
Tim Sturm (26.5) won the men’s net tournament. He was challenged
by Tom Frungillo (27.5), George Leonhardt (27.7), A.J. Moeke
(27.9), Dr. Cecil Dee (28.1), Paul Kessel (28.5), Terry Reiley
(28.7), John Sullivan (28.8), Scott Audette (29.0), Carl Swanson
(29.2) and Chris Mattie (29.8).
Chasing Gokey in the women’s low gross tournament were Kathy
Taylor (30), Sue Aljoe (31) and Maria Reap (31).
Sue Martin had a score of 30.5 to win the women’s net
tournament. She was challenged by Marcia Bower (30.6), Judy Abbey
(30.7), Lorrie Vecellio (31.8), Judy Moeke (31.9), Patsy Arrowsmith
(32.1), Jan Brown (32.4), Kim O’Mara (32.6) and Holly Nidel
(32.8).
Chasing Hannon in the junior gross division was Ryan Gokey
(29).
Kenny Konwinski (30.6) and Chris Reiley (32.2) paced the junior
low net golfers.
Chris Borland (35), Evan Pecora (37) and Caroline Miller (38)
led the nine-hole junior low net golfers.
Closest to pin four was Tom Frungillo (3’10”), closest to pin
six was Sue Aljoe (7’7″) and closest to hole 10 was Kenny Konwinski
(12’5″). Lynne Gokey had the longest putt on eight (24’2”) and
Haley Bayline was closest to the tee on hole two.
Pot of gold winners were A.J. Moeke (100), Dawn Pezzimenti (60),
Tom Arrowsmith (50), Dan DeFrank (40), Gene Fazio (30) and Jay
Pecora (20).
