David Lyons went 2-for-2 and blasted a 3-run homer to power
Emporium to a 4-3 win over Smethport in American Legion baseball
action Friday.
Getting the mound win was Cameron Clingan who went the distance
scattering five hits, walking two and whiffing 15.
Suffering the mound loss was Kyle Doutt who gave up seven hits,
issued two free passes and fanned four.
Also carrying Emporium offensively was Clingan with a
double.
Sparking Smethport (9-3) with the sticks were Zach Myers with a
two-run double and Preston Birtcil went 2-for-4.
In other action, Alex Faucher drilled a three-run double and
Nick Foster smacked a two-run double to send Bradford to a 10-7 win
over Kane.
Splitting the pitching duties for Bradford were Faucher and Evan
Kline, who combined on a six hitter, fanned four and issued three
free passes.
Also pacing Bradford (5-6) at the plate were Mike Pascarella
(3-for-4, double), Nick Foster (2-for-3) and Karl McCracken (RBI
triple).
On the hill for Kane were Zach Anderson and Mike Punk who
combined for three strikeouts, surrendered 11 hits and gave up four
walks. Keying Kane on offense was Punk who had an RBI triple.
Bradford travels to Fox Township on Monday.
